The Mediaset Premium pay-television service of Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset has acquired rights to the International Champions Cup pre-season club football friendly tournament.
The Premium Sport channel will hold exclusive rights to the ICC in Italy, encompassing its ongoing North America event, along with the forthcoming new competitions in Australia and China.
The North America leg of the ICC began on July 11, but Italian interest in the competition will commence on Saturday as AS Roma take on Real Madrid in the first game of the Australian event in Melbourne.
Roma’s fellow Serie A team Fiorentina is competing in the North America leg, which runs through to August 5, while AC Milan and Inter Milan are taking part in the China tournament from July 25-30.
