MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM), the interactive media and internet company of Major League Baseball, has acquired an equity stake in multi-platform sports entertainment channel the Whistle as part of a broader content partnership.
Under the deal, the Whistle will show short-form, youth-orientated baseball programming produced by MLBAM across its digital platforms.
MLBAM will provide the Whistle with technology services to support its multimedia platforms.
Numerous other professional sports leagues and organisations already have equity stakes in the Whistle, including American football’s NFL, golf’s PGA Tour, the Nascar stock car-racing series, US Skiing, Major League Lacrosse and US Soccer.
