Major League Soccer and Pluto TV, the free, ad-supported streaming service owned by US media group ViacomCBS, have announced a multiyear extension of their content agreement.
MLS content on Pluto TV includes replays of top matches from the current season, classic matches, original features, and original weekly programs like Matchday Central, Extratime driven by Continental, MLS Review, as well as highlights.
As part of the new agreement, Spanish-language content on MLS will be available on Pluto TV’s Deportes Channel.
“Major League Soccer’s agreement with Pluto TV has provided fans new ways to experience and connect to the game, especially during a time when we are all staying apart,” said MLS’s senior director of content distribution Gem Benedict. “As we build on the momentum of the MLS is Back Tournament and continue our 25th season in home markets, we are proud to extend our relationship with Pluto TV and are excited to continue providing fans with great content this fall.”
Since the formation of the deal with MLS, Pluto TV has experienced an increase in monthly viewers from 12 million in 2019 to today’s 26.5 million monthly active users in the US.
The length and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Pluto TV recently debuted in Latin America and also has a presence in Europe.
