The IMG Productions division of the IMG agency has appointed Nick Moody as the head of its Premier League Productions operation for the production and distribution of international programming for the English Premier League, the top division of English football.
Moody previously oversaw production of EPL coverage at sports broadcaster ESPN. He began his new role at PLP on December 1, 2013.
In addition, Simon Carr has also been appointed executive producer responsible for core programming at PLP. Steve Tudgay has also been named as PLP’s executive producer with responsibility for the content service.
Graham Fry, global managing director of production for IMG Productions, said: “PLP is a huge and demanding project and represents a significant expenditure by the Premier League. We are continually striving to improve what we offer to the licensees and extra resource at the senior level will help us achieve that goal, while hopefully setting a benchmark for production that will set the Premier League even further apart from its rivals.”
PLP recently signed a three-year extension to its deal with the EPL to handle production and distribution for the league's international programming. The contract includes customisation of all 380 Premier League matches per season and the production of a 24-hour content service offering.
