Motors TV set for pan-American expansion

Pan-European motorsports channel Motors TV will expand into North and South American markets from January 28.

A Spanish-language version of Motors TV will launch alongside the main channel via satellite-television service provider Eutelsat, while the company’s move into the Americas will also be supported by independent channel distribution agency Thema.

Eutelsat’s Alterna’TV platform will introduce Motors TV in Latin America, while Thema will present it to media platforms in the US.

The channel’s launch week in the Americas will feature live action from the Enduropale du Touquet motorcycle beach race, while the season-long schedule features motor racing’s World Endurance Championship and same-day highlights from the World Rally Championship, amongst other properties.

Motors TV founder and chief executive Jean-Luc Roy said: “Over the past 15 years Motors TV has proven to be the destination of choice for passionate motorsports fans throughout Europe and the UK and now, thanks to Alterna’TV and Thema, we can extend our programming feeds into the ideal US and Latin American markets.

“We’re very excited to be expanding into the Americas where European and international motorsport fans are underserved and eager to collaborate with Alterna’TV and Thema on garnering carriage agreements to remedy that situation.”
