The MP & Silva agency has been signed up to serve as the worldwide rights distribution partner of the Ekstraklasa, Polish football’s top division.
The agreement will run for six years, from 2015-16 to 2020-21.
Earlier this week, the Polsat Sport news website said that the agency would be able to guarantee Ekstraklasa clubs double the income they receive under the current rights deal with NC Plus, the pay-television platform formed through the merger of pay-television operators Cyfra Plus and N.
“We have tried to work out the most efficient system of media rights distribution for several months now,” Ekstraklasa president Bogusław Biszof said. “In the coming weeks, with the agency’s help, we will start direct negotiations with the broadcasters.”
Roberto Dalmiglio, MP & Silva’s group commercial director, added: “The Polish football league has deep roots and a very strong local fan base. We will definitely work on its expansion, both domestically and worldwide, with the view to enhance this historical brand.”
