The MP & Silva agency has acquired distribution rights for the Handball-Bundesliga, the sport’s top division in Germany.
The agency will distribute the division’s rights over four seasons, from 2013-14 to 2016-17, on a worldwide basis, excluding Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg and the Alto Adige region of Italy.
The rights cover cable, satellite and terrestrial television, as well as online, mobile and betting platforms.
The package to be distributed by the agency includes two live matches per round during the 34-week regular season plus the annual Super Cup, All Star game, German Cup final and Final Four, as well as weekly highlights programmes.
The agency struck the deal with the Handball-Bundesliga and German sports broadcaster Sport1, the league’s broadcast partner.
