Sony-owned Indian broadcaster Multi Screen Media, a major broadcaster of sports coverage in the country, has rebranded as Sony Pictures Networks (SPN).
SPN will be a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment, according to the Indian Television news website.
“Our channels in India represent an important part of Sony Pictures Television’s global portfolio and we are proud to be part of the fabric of the diverse Indian culture,” Sony Pictures Entertainment president of worldwide networks Andy Kaplan said.
The Multi Screen Media brand was launched in December 2007 after the division rebranded from SET India to reflect the evolution of the business from a television to multi-platform operation.
