NBA agrees streaming rights deal with FanCode in India

The NBA has agreed a deal to stream live and on-demand games on Indian sports news and fantasy gaming tips application FanCode during the 2019-20 season.

FanCode subscribers will have access to games from the regular-season, playoffs, and the finals, as well as content related to fantasy gaming. The app, which was launched in March and claims to have had over 10 million downloads, is operated by Sporta Technologies, which also runs the Dream11 fantasy gaming app. Dream11 has an existing deal to be the NBA’s official fantasy gaming partner in India. FanCode’s content includes analysis and tips aimed at helping Dream11 players.

FanCode has previously streamed matches from the International Champions Cup 2019 pre-season football tournament, and the cricket tournaments the Vitality Blast and the European Cricket League.

NBA India managing director Rajesh Sethi said: “By offering NBA games on FanCode, we will further connect with millions of fans in India who enjoy NBA daily fantasy by offering them features like fantasy research, game recaps, news, live scores and much more. As the demand for NBA programming and content continues to grow in India, we are committed to providing fans with new and personalised ways to connect with the NBA.”

Yannick Colaco, the co-founder of FanCode, said: “Basketball fans will now have comprehensive coverage of the NBA on FanCode, including live streams of all the biggest games, scores, features, news coverage and fantasy research.”
