North American stock-car racing series Nascar has struck an agreement with US commercial and pay-television broadcaster NBC Sports to deliver live coverage of its esports championship for the first time.
The first-ever eNascar championship telecast will showcase the crowning of the series champion, who will take home a $40,000 (€36,000) share of the $100,000 prize fund.
Nascar, NBC Sports and iRacing announced that a special two-hour edition of Nascar America will include coverage of this year’s eNascar iRacing Series, which takes place tomorrow (Thursday) from the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway.
iRacing made its debut on NBC Sports Network during the summer with a pair of exhibition races.
The 2019 season marks the 10th year of the eNascar iRacing Series.
