Polish pay-television operator NC Plus has acquired exclusive rights to the Superliga, the top division of handball in the country, while international sports broadcaster Eleven Sports Network has launched its third channel in Poland.
The NC Plus rights deal runs for three seasons, from 2016-17 to 2018-19. It includes a commitment to broadcast a minimum of 68 games per season, including all playoff encounters.
NC Plus will also provide highlights programmes and cover the league’s Star Weekend event. Matches will be broadcast live by the Canal Plus Sport and nSport Plus channels, as well as streamed via the NC Plus Go and Canal Plus Sport Online platforms.
Meanwhile, Eleven Sports has launched its Eleven Extra channel, which will be made available via NC Plus.
Eleven Extra will provide NC Plus subscribers with content including club football in the shape of Spain’s LaLiga, Italy’s Serie A and France’s Ligue 1 as part of a promotional viewing period until the end of September. After that, it will be available to subscribers of the Eleven package.
