Brazilian pay-television operators Claro TV and Net have teamed up to deliver the opening ceremony of the 2016 summer Olympic Games in 4K ultra-high definition.
The August 5 ceremony will be broadcast in 4K via the SporTV channel, which is owned by Brazilian media company Globo. The coverage will be available to subscribers with compatible set-top boxes.
Net and SporTV also delivered 4K coverage of football’s Fifa World Cup in 2014.
This summer’s Games will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 5-21.
