Argentinian agency Torneos y Competencias has launched Sport Plus, a new pay-television sports channel in Brazil.
The channel will be carried by Brazilian satellite-television operator Sky Brasil, and is being operated by Time Out, a subsidiary media company of Torneos.
Sport Plus will focus on football, basketball and tennis, but will also show action and adventure films and sports documentaries.
This year, the channel will show coverage of South American qualifying national team football matches for the 2014 Fifa World Cup as well as action from the Spanish Liga, the top football division in the country, and the Copa del Rey, the top knockout football competition in Spain.
Sport Plus will also broadcast games live from the NBA and Euroleague basketball competitions and will provide coverage of the 500 series, the second tier of tournaments on the ATP World Tour men’s professional tennis circuit.
