Australian broadcaster Nine Entertainment is reported to have renewed its domestic media rights for the Australian Open tennis Grand Slam in a deal with Tennis Australia.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that a deal covering five years, 2025 to 2029, was agreed "in principle" over the weekend. The newspaper said it could be worth up to A$105m ($68m/€68m) per year including cash and 'contra' - the latter is the Australian industry term for value-in-kind in the form of marketing and promotion. This would be a 75-per-cent increase in value on the current deal, worth around A$60m per year from 2020 to 2024.
