Norwegian football rights head to market

The Fotball Media agency, which distributes the rights for the Tippeligaen on behalf of the Norwegian Football Federation, has opened a tender process for the rights to the top division of the domestic game, along with the second-tier 1. Divisjon.

The kampanje.com website said the tender includes rights to the two leagues from the 2017 season, with a deadline for submitting bids set for late November.

The tender is split into nine packages in total, three of which relate solely to live rights for the Tippeligaen.

Kjetil Siem, secretary general of the NFF, said: “Norwegian football is a good and attractive product, and we are seeing strong interest from several parties. Therefore, we are optimistic with regards to landing a deal that is both good economically and which will reinforce the Tippeligaen as Norway's most attractive entertainment product for the public and media channels.”
