Dutch public-service broadcaster NOS has renewed a domestic rights deal for highlights of the Eredivisie, the top division of football in the Netherlands, it was announced this (Wednesday) afternoon.
The deal will run for three seasons, from 2014-15 to 2016-17.
NOS overcame competition from commercial broadcasters SBS and RTL, with the latter having dropped out of the process following the first round of bidding in January.
The highlights will be shown at 19.00pm on Sundays.
The Fox International Channels broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox has rights for the Eredivisie in a 12-year deal, from 2013-14 to 2024-25, and exploits live rights on the Fox Sports Eredivisie channel.
The deal was approved by the Eredivisie Media and Marketing division.
