Dutch public-service broadcaster NOS has agreed a deal to cover the 2016 edition of cycling’s Giro d’Italia, which commences in the Netherlands on May 6.
NOS will provide live coverage of 11 stages from the ‘Grand Tour’, including the opening individual time trial in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn and the following two stages which head from Arnhem to Nijmegen and back again.
The broadcaster’s live coverage will include the Giro’s three individual time trials, in which home rider Tom Dumoulin is expected to feature prominently. NOS will also offer highlights of the remaining 10 stages of the 2016 Giro, which will conclude in Turin on May 29.
NOS last covered the Giro live in 2010, when Amsterdam was the starting point for the race.
