The newly-launched Olympic Channel in the US has struck a deal to show the 2017 World Games.
The multi-sport event, which started today (Thursday) in the Polish city of Wroclaw, will run until July 30.
The new channel, ‘Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA’, launched last Saturday with a reach of 35 million homes in the US.
The channel, which has been rolled out by the International Olympic Committee around the world since the conclusion of the Rio 2016 summer Olympic Games, has been launched in the US through a partnership between the IOC, its long-time broadcast partner, NBCUniversal, and the US Olympic Committee.
The channel will provide coverage of the World Games on television, via the OlympicChannel.com website and the Olympic Channel mobile application, with NBCU’s NBCSports.com and NBC Sports app also showing action.
The International World Games Association added that international pay-television broadcaster ESPN Latin America will broadcast Wroclaw 2017 in South America.
