Pay-television broadcaster OSN, which operates in the Middle East and North Africa, has acquired rights for the 2014 winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
OSN agreed the deal with the Arab States Broadcast Union (ASBU) consortium of broadcasters.
In June 2009, the ASBU acquired rights for the 2014 and 2016 Olympic Games in a deal with the International Olympic Committee covering Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
OSN will show the Sochi Games across four channels – OSN Sports 1 HD, OSN Sports 2 HD, OSN Sports 3 and OSN Sports 4.
The OSN Play online viewing platform will also provide coverage.
