The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has awarded media rights to the country’s public-service broadcaster PTV and pay-television broadcaster Ten Sports.
The rights have been awarded for five years, from 2015-16 to 2019-20. The two broadcasters tabled a joint bid for the rights.
The PCB originally wanted to sell the rights for an eight-year period.
Precise details of the deals, including the split of live rights and fixtures, were not revealed by the PCB following a board of governors’ meeting.
PTV will exploit the rights on the PTV Sports channel, while Ten Sports, which operates in the Indian subcontinent, acquired rights for Pakistan’s 2014 cricket series against the Australia and New Zealand national teams late last year.
