Digital media company Perform has acquired exclusive live rights covering the UK, Northern Ireland and Australia for three Republic of Ireland national team football matches in a deal with the Kentaro agency.
Perform will stream the games live on a pay-per-view basis via Goal.com, the football news website that was acquired by the company last year.
The matches will be available through the Livesport.tv streaming service on Goal.com.
The first game to be shown will be this evening’s World Cup 2014 qualifier away to Kazakhstan.
Goal.com will also show Ireland’s home friendly match against Oman next Tuesday, September 11, and the team’s away World Cup qualifier versus Faroe Islands on Tuesday, October 16.
Viewers can watch a single match for £2.99 or all three for £5.99.
“This is an exciting development for us and we are glad to be able to bring these important qualifying matches to fans of the Republic of Ireland in the UK and Northern Ireland,” Perform joint chief executive Oliver Slipper said. “For some time now, the internet has proved a worthy alternative to traditional broadcast and fans are far more accustomed to consuming live content through the PCs.”
