Polish pay-TV operator bags Olympics rights

Polish pay-television platform ‘n’ will broadcast more than 100 hours of live and delayed action from this summer’s Olympic Games in London, after agreeing a sublicensing agreement with public-service broadcaster TVP, the rights-holder in Poland.

N will show coverage of sports including volleyball, handball and basketball. Coverage will be available in high definition and 3D.

TVP acquired rights to the Games through its membership of the European Broadcasting Union. Pan-European broadcaster Eurosport also holds rights in Poland for the event under the EBU deal, which covers the 2010 and 2012 Olympics.
