Portuguese pay-television broadcaster Sport TV has launched a new sports channel in the Portuguese-language African markets of Angola and Mozambique.
Sport TV Africa 2 is being carried on satellite-television operator Zap and will broadcast 11 daily programmes on weekdays and 15 programmes per day on weekends, according to the Rapid TV News website.
Sport TV Africa 2’s portfolio of programming will include North American motor racing series Nascar and IndyCar, NBA basketball and the Spanish basketball league, the ACB. The channel will also broadcast domestic handball from Portugal as well as football, rugby union, boxing, kickboxing and motocross from various countries.
