Premier League seals more rights deals in Russia, Ukraine

The English Premier League, the top division of football in the country, has awarded rights in Russia to pay-television broadcaster NTV-Plus and in Ukraine to the MP & Silva agency.

Both of the deals will run for three seasons, from 2013-14 to 2015-16, and will cover all audiovisual rights, including television, internet and mobile platforms.

“We are pleased to announce that we have secured these rights on exclusive basis and that the Premier League is coming back to our sports channels,” NTV-Plus general director Alexey Kukolevskiy said.

MP & Silva chief executive Andrea Radrizzani said: “With this latest addition of Ukraine, MP & Silva has now acquired Premier League rights in more territories than any other agency. Our position today means we are a key driver of the Premier League’s broadcasting internationally, exclusively distributing football content to a total of 49 territories. We are covering 24 territories in the Asia-Pacific region, 23 in the Middle East and North Africa region and two in Europe, reaching out to a combined total of almost 800 million people and a potential TV audience of 142 million households.”
