Premier Sports has acquired rights in the UK and Ireland to Impact Wrestling’s flagship weekly show and its showpiece events.
The broadcaster will show the weekly IMPACT! programme on its free-to-air channel, FreeSports, at 10pm (UK time) every Wednesday, some hours after it airs in the US.
It will show the special events on its pay-television channels, with some events shown live.
Impact Wrestling’s executive vice-president Scott D’Amore said: “We’re very excited to be back in prime time and for our fans in the UK and Ireland to be able catch all the action from our flagship weekly show for free.”
Commercial free-to-air broadcaster Channel 5 held the rights to the property since 2017. It now holds UK rights to the rival WWE promotion in a four-year deal announced early this year.
Meanwhile, Impact Wrestling has announced an exclusive content agreement with Russian streaming platform Rutube.List.
As part of the deal, Fight Network and Impact Wrestling programming join Rutube’s portfolio of sports coverage with video-on-demand content to be available in English and Russian. Rutube lays claim to having 10 million viewers throughout Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Canada-based Impact Wrestling, which was previously known as TNA Wrestling, was launched in 2002.
