Online streaming service QuipuTV has agreed a deal with the International Cricket Council to show four World Cricket League Championship qualifying matches for the 2015 Cricket World Cup this month.
QuipuTV’s live streams of Scotland’s one day internationals against Canada in Edinburgh on July 9 and July 11 will be available via the official website of the Cricket Scotland national governing body, as well as the website of Canadian pay-television broadcaster Rogers Sportsnet.
The one-day internationals between the Netherlands and United Arab Emirates in Rotterdam on July 21 and 23 will be shown on the Dutch cricket association’s website.
All four matches will also be streamed live via QuipuTV’s own website, Quipu.tv.
The coverage follows QuipuTV’s streaming live of 14 matches from the round of ICC World Twenty20 qualifiers in March.
“The financial reality is that we can only provide skeleton coverage of these matches, but we want to demonstrate to fans of associate and affiliate cricket and to the ICC that we are committed to this level of the sport and want to assist with its continued development,” QuipuTV managing director Jack McGill said.
“Our hope is that by building stronger relationships with host television broadcasters for our live stream, highlights packages, and interviews, we can take our coverage to the next level and to an ever greater number of viewers and fans.”
