Rights-trading platform prepares for launch

Content Arena, a marketplace that connects sellers and buyers of sports-media rights, will launch at the Sportel Monaco trade show in Monaco later this month.

Content Arena will seek to offer a one-stop marketplace that provides selling and buying options, as well as additional services to manage the rights-sales process.

Key features of the service will include the automated creation of legal documents, rights portfolio management, secure payment processes, as well as the option to manage the technical content distribution.

Rights on the platform can be sold using various mechanisms, such as fixed pricing or bidding auctions.

Content Arena’s co-founder, Sascha Kojic, said that the service would be of use to rights-holders, buyers and agencies.

“Our key focus is to make rights trading as efficient, convenient and transparent as possible for all parties,” Kojic said.

Content Arena has operated in beta format since July, with more than 300 football matches being traded via the service, including some in the Uefa Champions League and Europa League, and international friendlies.

Sportel Monaco will run from October 23-26.
