Racecourse Media Group, the holding company responsible for a range of media and data rights involving 34 of the UK’s premier racecourses, has secured a deal to simulcast live coverage of the Dubai World Cup Carnival horse racing series in the Caribbean, as well as North, Central and South America.
The Carnival comprises 11 fixtures at Dubai racing venue Meydan Racecourse. The first event of the 2016 series took place on January 7 and will conclude with the Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest horse race, on March 26.
RMG will enable online and retail customers in the Caribbean, North, Central and South America to access live coverage and the official pools for each fixture. Pools will be hosted by Isle of Man company Premier Gateway International.
RMG agreed the deal with Dubai Racing Club, the owner and operator of Meydan Racecourse.
Richard FitzGerald, chief executive of RMG, said: “We were awarded the contract to produce the output from Meydan Racecourse in November last year and with our considerable experience in the sports media rights market, it seemed a natural next step to market the pictures to new customers on behalf of Dubai Racing Club.”
