Absent a broadcast deal in the region, Lega Serie A has opted to continue broadcasting matches on YouTube free of charge in the Middle East and North Africa, but will also grant a “non-exclusive one-month exploratory mandate to various licensees” with a view to brokering a rights agreement.

News of the league’s short-term plans in Mena was announced after a league assembly meeting this morning. Luigi De Siervo, the league chief executive, is to take charge of the granting of the non-exclusive mandates, the league said.
