Seven has sealed a partnership with Optus under which the Australian commercial broadcaster will be able to offer streaming coverage of sporting events to mobile customers of the telecommunications company on a data-free basis.
The special offer – which will include Seven’s coverage of the Australian Open tennis grand slam, the 2018 winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast – will be available to Optus Postpaid mobile customers.
The data-free video-on-demand offer will run for four months, from January to April inclusive.
The coverage will be available through the 7Tennis, Olympicson7 and 7CommGames applications.
Optus’ managing director of marketing and product, Ben White, said: “Optus’ partnership with Seven further expands our wide range of exciting entertainment options available to Optus customers, giving them access to more than 3,000 hours of the best live-action sporting events on offer in Australia this summer, all streamed data-free.”
