UK pay-television broadcaster Sky has been appointed as the host broadcaster of the Athletics World Cup, which will be hosted at the London Stadium on July 14-15.
Sky sealed the agreement with Athletics World Cup Ltd, which is operating the event.
The Athletics World Cup is a new addition to the calendar and will feature the world’s top eight athletics nations – China, France, Germany, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Jamaica, Poland, South Africa and the US.
All standard track events will take place up to the 1,500m, alongside field events.
Sky will provide live coverage across its Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Mix channels. Sky will also produce the world feed for the event.
The Lagardère Sports agency is responsible for marketing the rights to the inaugural edition of the Athletics World Cup on a worldwide basis, excluding the UK and Ireland.
