Sky’s Q4 revenue dips but subscriber numbers up

Sky, the Comcast-owned European pay-television broadcaster, saw its direct-to-consumer revenue fall by just under one per cent from $4.08bn (€3.66bn) to $4.04bn for the financial quarter ending December 31, 2021.

Sky’s year-on-year content revenue also fell by 23.1 per cent from $426m to $327m, although its advertising revenue rose slightly from $702m to $712m. As a result, Sky’s overall revenue, excluding the impact of currency, fell by 2.5 per cent from $5.21bn in the final quarter of 2020 to $5.08bn in the last three months of 2021.
