Sony acquires rights for new Ultimate Kho Kho league

Indian broadcaster Sony Pictures Networks has signed an exclusive, multi-year television and digital rights deal with Ultimate Kho Kho, India’s first professional kho kho league.

Kho kho is one of the most popular tag-based traditional sports in India, with the better-known Kabaddi considered another example of the genre. Kho kho in its simplest form involves chasing and touching a person. The team-based game involves two teams, with nine players each on the field, played over four 'innings' of nine minutes each. The teams alternate between chasing and defence.
