The deal to produce Wimbledon in 3D is a multi-year agreement with the All England Lawn Tennis Club. As well as being distributed to cinemas, the 3D production will be distributed to television broadcasters around the world in partnership with UK public-service broadcaster the BBC.
The deal for Hawk-Eye will give Sony all the company’s intellectual property rights, current full-time staff, technology, software and engineering capabilities. Hawk-Eye will become part of Sony Professional, a division of Sony Europe.
