Indian sports and entertainment pay-television channel Sony Six has secured the exclusive broadcasting rights to the European qualifiers for the Uefa Euro 2016 and 2018 Fifa World Cup football tournaments across the Indian subcontinent.
The contract agreed with the CAA Eleven agency, which is marketing the rights on behalf of European football’s governing body Uefa, provides Sony Six with 546 international matches in total, beginning with the Euro 2016 qualifiers which commence in September.
The agreement comes after Sony Six last month acquired the exclusive broadcast rights to the Euro 2016 finals across the Indian subcontinent. Sony Six will broadcast live all 51 games from the national team competition, which will be hosted by France.
