The MP & Silva agency has extended a deal to distribute media rights for Brazil’s Campeonato Paulista and Brasileirao club football tournaments in parts of Europe and Asia.
The deal covers France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria in Europe as well as Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar in Asia.
The agreement with Brazilian sports media company Globo will run for two years and cover the 2014 and 2015 editions of the tournaments. The Campeonato Paulista runs from January to April and the Campeonato Brasileiro runs from May to December.
The rights to be distributed by MP & Silva include live coverage as well as a weekly football magazine programme and a weekly highlights show. The deal covers all media platforms.
MP & Silva has distributed the rights for the competitions in those selected territories since 2011 and the agency recently agreed a deal to distribute the rights to the UK until 2015.
