Indian sports and entertainment pay-television channel Sony Six has acquired exclusive media rights for the Six Nations international rugby union tournament.
Under the deal, coverage of the 2014 event will be broadcast in a prime time slot on the Sony Six and Sony Six HD channels.
The tournament, which features the national teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales, will commence on February 1 and conclude on March 15.
Earlier this month, Sony Six announced the acquisition of rights for the India national cricket team’s tour of New Zealand, which began on January 19, and the Australian Open tennis tournament in a five-year deal, from 2015 to 2019.
