German sports broadcaster Sport1 has renewed rights agreements for the Uefa Youth League and the Uefa Women’s Champions League club football tournaments.
Sport1 will show live and exclusive coverage of this year’s final of the Women’s Champions League between German team VfL Wolfsburg and French outfit Lyon, the defending champion, on May 24. It will also show coverage of the 2018-19 final. The broadcaster has covered the final in recent years.
Sport1 has also acquired platform-neutral audiovisual rights to the Uefa Youth League in a deal that runs until the end of the 2020-21 season. The broadcaster will show regular live games, with selected free-to-air matches to focus on German teams. A number of games will also be showcased on pay-television channel Sport1+ and streamed online on Sport1.de.
The Uefa Youth League deal also includes highlights rights for television, online and mobile. Sport1 has covered the Uefa Youth League since the 2015-16 season.
