The Sportfive agency acquired the rights in Germany to tennis’s BMW Open in a deal with event organiser the Charly Steeb agency covering the three-year period from 2013 to 2015.
Sportfive’s agreement also included marketing rights and hospitality packages for the ATP World Tour 250 tennis tournament held in Munich, one of the warm-up events for the French Open.
“Sportfive has an excellent distribution network as well as comprehensive know-how in marketing,” Charly Steeb, chief executive of the Charly Steeb agency, said. “For us it was only logical to bring Sportfive on board and together market the BMW Open for the next three years.”
The 2012 BMW Open concluded on May 6 as Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany beat Marin Cilic of Croatia for the title.
