Sportsfix, an OTT service serving Southeast Asia, has acquired rights in Malaysia for Serie A, the top division of Italian football.
Under the deal with Lega Serie A’s international rights partner, the MP & Silva agency, Sportsfix will live stream three games per week from the ongoing 2017-18 season.
Coverage will commence this weekend with Roma vs Lazio, Napoli vs AC Milan and Sampdoria vs Juventus being streamed on Sunday.
Marcus Luer, executive chairman of Sportsfix, said: “This is a significant step for us and shows our ambitions as a platform. It’s a terrific league with big teams, fans and traditions. We are excited to bring Italian football back to the Malaysian fans.”
Serie A will add to Sportsfix’s growing list of football rights, which already includes Korea’s K League Classic, the Chinese Super League, Thai Premier League and Liga 1 Indonesia.
