Starhub revenues lift ahead of Premier League fallout

Starhub’s pay-television revenue also rose two per cent in the quarter to
S$303 million, with subscribers up three per cent to 535,000. Starhub had earlier announced that it will create a new sports channel, including football, wrestling, tennis and local sports, that will be offered for free to Starhub’s entire cable TV customer base, as will international sports news channel Eurosport News.

Starhub also said that it will drop the price of its premium sports bouquet by over 50 per cent from July 2010, ahead of the Premier League rights passing to rival SingTel. The sports bouquet will consist of the Football Channel, Supersports, Supersports Plus, Sports HD, Goal TV 1 and 2, Eurosport, La Liga On Demand and WWE On Demand.
