Superkombat targets global audiences with Playbook International deal

Mixed martial arts championship Superkombat has partnered with the Playbook International agency for the distribution of its media rights on a global scale for the first time.

Superkombat said broadcasters around the world will be offered fights at various weight levels on an exclusive and non-exclusive basis.

Pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport currently televises the Superkombat World Grand Prix Series in 75 countries across four continents.

In order to create more broadcast opportunities, the Superkombat New Series was created earlier this year, offering more content to broadcasters on a monthly basis.

Eduard Irimia, president of Superkombat, said: “With the new partnership and the experience and commitment of Playbook International, we are making the next step to strengthen our market position in Europe and to bring the Championship Series to other destinations outside of Europe, not only on TV but also as live events in arenas.”
