Belgian pay-television broadcaster Telenet has acquired rights for the Formula E electric car-racing championship.
The deal follows a one-race agreement that included live coverage and highlights of the most recent race on the calendar in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
The new agreement will run through to the end of the 2014-15 season of the championship, which is operated by the FIA, motorsport’s global governing body.
The current campaign will wrap up with races in Berlin, Moscow and London.
According to the organisers of the championship, the Telenet deal will focus on the northern, Flemish-speaking region of Belgium, in addition to an existing agreement with commercial broadcaster RTL in the southern, French-speaking part of the country.
