Mexican media group Televisa and commercial broadcaster TV Azteca have confirmed a three-year extension to their rights deal with American football’s NFL, according to Mexican newspaper El Economista.
The new deal will cover the 2013, 2014 and 2015 NFL seasons. Arturo Olivé, director general of NFL Mexico, said negotiations had encountered “no major setbacks”.
Under the terms of the deal, Televisa and TV Azteca will broadcast three games from the league per week.
Fox Sports, ESPN Latin America and league-owned pay-television broadcaster NFL Network will televise an additional six games between them.
