French commercial broadcaster TF1 has extended its Rugby World Cup rights deal to take in next year’s postponed edition of the women’s tournament in New Zealand, plus France’s staging of the men’s event in 2023.
The deal announced with World Rugby this morning means TF1 will continue a run that has seen it serve as the home of the World Cup in France since 1991, barring the 2003 tournament in Australia (shown by public broadcaster France Télévisions).
