Top Rank decided to drop HBO Sports, with Pacquiao’s Canadian adviser, Michael Koncz, saying that a larger audience was “a big benefit for us economically”. Showtime, part of the CBS group, has a reach of 115 million homes compared with HBO’s 28 million.
