Canadian pay-television sports broadcaster TSN has acquired media rights for Major League Baseball’s marquee Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday night games.
The deal will run for eight years, from 2014 to 2021.
Under the agreement, TSN platforms will broadcast more than 75 live games per season – tripling the broadcaster’s current portfolio of MLB games.
TSN retains rights to US pay-television broadcaster ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball and, for the first time, acquires rights to ESPN's Monday Night Baseball and Wednesday Night Baseball packages.
In addition to the live games, TSN has also acquired rights to ESPN's flagship baseball show Baseball Tonight, along with a package of MLB digital content.
MLB coverage begins on TSN platforms with the 2014 season’s opening night game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres on March 30.
