TUDN, the United States-based Spanish-language sports network, will bring Mexican soccer with the newly created Copa por Mexico featuring teams from Liga MX beginning July 3.
The eight-team, 15-match tournament, running from July 3 to July 19, will be played in Mexico City and Gaudalajara, with matches shown across the Univision portfolio including TUDN and Univision, UniMás, Galavision, TUDN.com, and the TUDN mobile app. In addition to live game coverage, the networks will also provide pre- and post-game programming related to the event.
The Copa por Mexico will serve as a run-up to a revived LigaMX season that is slated to begin July 24 behind closed doors and extend to December. The league, like many others around the world, has been suspended since March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Liga MX also recently moved to suspend promotion and relegation within the league for the next five years.
