Media company Turner has confirmed that its new OTT sports service will be called Bleacher Report Live and will launch next month.
The service will offer flexible pricing options, allowing viewers to access live coverage on a one-off or subscription basis.
Users will be able to scroll through a feed of real-time sporting events, while personalisation features will aggregate live sports content according to a fan’s specific taste.
The service will offer coverage of football’s Uefa Champions League and Europa League, as well as basketball league the NBA, US college sports and golf’s PGA Championship. Other sports, including lacrosse, rallycross and arm wrestling, will also be shown.
The service will launch on April 7 on iOS, Android and online platforms, and will offer a free preview period in the opening months. The OTT service will be supported by Turner’s iStreamPlanet platform.
David Levy, president of Turner, said: “When we first acquired Bleacher Report in 2012, we knew the definition of a network was changing and we anticipated a time when B/R would become a virtual network. This is a significant step in that direction and we will fully leverage the reach of B/R and its deep connection with passionate sports fans to provide compelling experiences for them across this new, exciting platform.”
