Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 has announced plans to add sports coverage to its TV4 Play streaming service.
From this weekend, the platform will offer coverage from football’s Spanish LaLiga, Italian Serie A, Major League Soccer and a ‘gold match’ from the domestic Allsvenskan.
TV4 Play will also offer coverage of the Swedish Hockey League, the top-tier ice hockey competition in the country.
Content will be free and available to everyone. The announcement comes after TV4 Play underwent major technology upgrades over the summer, allowing it to show sport and other content at 50 frames per second.
This weekend, TV4 Play will show the SHL match between Leksands IF and Malmö Redhawks, the LaLiga game between Real Betis and Getafe, the MLS clash between Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s LA Galaxy and Sporting Kansas City, and the Allsvenskan game between Djurgårdens and Helsingborgs.
